Shipping activity at Port Qasim

Sixty five percent occupancy was managed at the Port on Monday where a total of eleven ships namely, Mediterranean Bridge, X-Press Malaku, MSC Asya, Kook Yang Singapore, Bulk Polaris, Sinar Kutal, Ocean Prefect, Nicosia Pegasus Doe Won, CTG Bismuth and Brizo are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Sand, Coal, Rape seeds, Palm oil and Furnance oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 138,704 tonnes, comprising 78,591 tonnes import and 30,113 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,965 Containers (TEUs) 1,463 TEUs imports and 1,502 TEUs exports was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three ships, Mediterranean Bridge, Nicosia Pegasus and Brizo sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while two more ships X-Press Malaku and MSC Asya are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

A total of five ships, APL Miami, Maersk Memphis, Dragon Ocean, W Pacific and Glorious carrying Containers, 43,979 tonnes Coal, 66,000 tonnes Soya bean seeds and 19,996/ 22,120 tonnes Diesel oil/Mogas are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4 FAP and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday, 17th October, while two more ships MSC Charm and warisa Naree carrying Containers and Coal are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday October 18.
