Batsman Sohaib Maqsood, was once considered a bright prospect for the ailing Pakistan middle order. The batsman who was once compared to Inzamam ul Haq now struggle to get into the national squad.

However, Maqsood blames himself for his downfall, owing to ‘some below par performances.’

“I'd put that down to bad performances. When I was playing consistently, I had so many chances to convert starts into big innings. I let myself down with some below par performances,” said Maqsood, in an interview to PakPassion.net.

The batsman informed that he has not fully recovered from the wrist injury he sustained in 2015, terming it a career threatening injury.

“I have had a decent amount of injuries in my career, but that specific wrist injury threatened my career more than any other injury in the past....  I could not recover from this wrist injury as quickly as I was expecting to and that factor hampered my comeback to the international side.”

However, Masood was optimistic that he could make into international cricket, as he eyes to perform well in the domestic season.
