Gems exports increase 24.07pc in two-month

ISLAMABAD: Gems exports from the country during first two-month of current financial year increased by 24.07 percent as compared the exports of the corresponding period of last year.

During the period from July-August, 2017-18, about 2 metric tons of gems worth US$598,000 exported as compared the exports of one metric ton valuing US$482,000 of same period last year.

Meanwhile, jewelry worth US$598, 000 exported from the country as compared the exports of US$1,585 million of same period last year.

According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, jewelry exports from the country decreased by 16.79 percent during first two months of current financial year as compared the exports of same period last year.

Meanwhile, furniture worth US$711,000 exported during the period under review as against the exports of US$875,000 of same period last year, it added.

During the period from July-August, 2017-18 about 68,685 metric tons of molasses worth US$7.501 million exported as compared the exports of 6,675 metric tons valuing US$815,000 of same period last year, it added.

In last two months around 2,620 metric tons of gur and gur products worth US$3.349 million exported as compared the exports of 2,349 metric tons valuing US$2.906 million of same period last year.
