PCB accused of damaging image of country

The Sindh Minister for Sports Dr Syed Muhammad Ali Shah has criticised the PCB for damaging the image of Pakistan in international sports and taking least interest in the development of sports infrastructure within the country. This he said while talking to the media men after inaugurating the repair and renovation works of Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Hostel at Hyderabad on Monday.
Expressing his deep concern over the failure of Pakistan Cricket Team in Sidney Test, the Sindh Minister said that the over all revamping in the administration of PCB and removal of Pakistan Cricket Team Coach has become inevitable. He said that the PCB has also proved as failure organisation for implementing on MoU, which it made with the District Government Hyderabad for the development and maintenance of Niaz Stadium Hyderabad.
He said that Pakistan has good potential and legacy of sports for having international sports tournaments in the country. Placing an example of successful conduct of Benazir Bhutto International Boxing Tournament participated by 22 European and countries from other continents, the Sindh Minister said that in future such international tournaments of different games would also be organised in Sindh and hopefully such events would be proved as source of discovering new talent from the province.
While talking about the SSB hostel, the Sindh Minister termed it as equal to three star hotel and a gift for Hyderabad people from the provincial Government. Responding a question, he said that the control of Hockey Stadium had been given to the District Hockey Association Hyderabad, because the previous administrators were not performing their duty as per the requirement. He said that the system of regional cricket has almost closed as such now the system being reorganised on provincial and divisional level to discover the new talented players in cricket.
