KARACHI: Four ships C.V MSC Bruxelles, M.T Mer Babu, M.T Bunga Aster and M.T Echo Galaxy scheduled to load/offload containers, Codensent, Palm oil and LPG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at 35% on Monday where a total of six ships namely MSC Bruxelles, Nireas, Echo Galaxy, Ever Rich-6, Bunga Aster and Mer Babu were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Soya Bean Seeds, LPG, Palm oil and Condensate respectively.

A cargo volume of 91,123 tonnes, comprising 49,375 tonnes import cargo and 41,748 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,900 containers (TEUs), 1,000 TEUs imports and 900 TEUs exports was handled at the port.

Chemicals carrier Echo Galaxy sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while Containers ship MSC Bruxelles in expected to sail on same day in the after afternoon.

Five ships C.V X-press Kailash, C.V MSC Tomoko, M.V Hong Xing, M.T Miranda and M.T CTG Cobalt carrying Container, Project Cargo, Chemical and Phosphoric Acid are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2, MW-1 and EVTL respectively on Tuesday, while another Containers Vessel Maersk Hartford is due to arrive at PQ on same day.
