The Muharram ul Haram moon was sighted in Pakistan on Thursday, as the Muslim world enters 1439 Hijri.

The meeting, led by Mufti Munibur Rehman, was held at the Met office where evidences of the new crescent moon for the new Hijri year was collected. Meanwhile, the formal announcement would be made shortly.

The 10th of Muharram or Youm-e-Ashoor will be observed on Sunday 1st October.
