Pakistani cricketers were in high demand at the upcoming draft of South Africa's T20 Global League (GL), as nine players were picked for the inaugural edition.

Wahab Riaz, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Yasir Shah, Anwar Ali, Imad Wasim and Junaid Khan were selected by the franchises participating in T20GL.

Meanwhile, two franchises of Pakistan Super League (PSL) also joined the League i.e.  Peshawar Zalmi owned Benoni Zalmi, and Durban Qalandars of Lahore Qalandars.

Fast bowler Wahab Riaz was picked by Javed Afridi Benoni Zalmi for US$ 115,000, becoming the most expensive Pakistani cricketer.

Meanwhile, Umar Akmal Mohammad Nawaz were picked by Zalmi’s for $100000 and $35000, respectively.

Whereas, cricketing professor Hafeez joined the Durban Qalandars, for $75000. While, Champions Trophy hero, Fakhar Zaman, joined the Qalandar wagon for $65000.

Bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim will be seen playing for Stellenbosch Monarchs, he was picked for $85000.

Fast bowler Anwar Ali and pacer Junaid Khan will represent the Nelson Mandela Bay Stars. The bowling duo was picked for $100000 and $75000, respectively.

Leggie Yasir Shah will be spinning for Jo’burg Giants; he was picked for $60000.

As per Cricket South Africa (CSA), 32 international cricketers and 96 local players will be seen in action in the league. The tournament will begin from November 3rd to December 16 in various cities of South Africa.
