Just a week ago we came across a news that marked Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, to beat Bill Gates as the world’s richest man only for a brief period making Bezos go back to second place on the list. Now, it seems like Bezos has dropped to third position.

Kicking Bezos to third place, Amancio Ortega, the founder of Zara claimed the second spot to be the world’s richest person on Tuesday, according to reports by Forbes.

Bezos’ sudden drop in just a week was because of Amazon stock fluctuations as the e-commerce company’s stock has dropped to almost 5% since last Thursday. However, on Tuesday afternoon, Forbes estimated Ortega’s net worth to be $85.5 billion as compared to Bezos’ estimated net value of $84.6 billion.

When it comes to Ortega, lot of people doesn’t know who he is regardless of his enormous wealth. This is because of the privacy Ortega maintains. Keeping himself private, Ortega is seldom seen in public. Throughout his exceptionally thriving career, Ortega has just given a handful of interviews.

The Spanish retail tycoon, Ortega began his career along with his former wife Rosalia back in 1975 by founding fast-fashion giant Zara. Now, his retail company Inditex SA that owns Zara, Massimo Dutti and Pull&Bear, has 7,385 outposts across the world, according to Business Insider.
