QUETTA: National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) for Railways Chairman Ramesh Kumar has said that about 4000 acres of land were purchased for Railway in Gwadar, while measures are needed  to buy more land for improving railway system.

These were expressed by National Assembly Standing Committee for Railway's Chairman Ramesh Kumar after a meeting which was held at DS Railway Quetta Office on Monday.

MNAs including Naseema Hafeez Panizai, Muhammad Irfan, Khalil Ahmed and Railway official also attended the meeting.

National Assembly Standing Committee members were also briefed by DS Railways Quetta Amir Baloch.

Baloch said that at least 26 acres of encroachment land had been freed  by Railway staff after hectic efforts which were occupied by encroachers.

He said that efforts were also underway to vacate remaining encroachment of 3 acres of the Railway lands.

The National Assembly Standing Committee members expressed satisfaction over Balochistan Railway efforts and appreciated their role against encroachment of Railway lands.

The NASC for Railway's Chairman Ramesh Kumar directed to DS Railways Quetta Amir Bloch to accelerate measures to end encroachment from Railway lands for advancement of its system and increasing its income in the country.

Chairman said that role of Balochistan Railways would be presented in National Assembly. Later, NASC for Railway's Chairman and MNAs along with railway officials visited Quetta Railway Station.
