FRANKFURT AM MAIN: German industrial conglomerate Siemens said Friday it would cut some ties to Russia after confirming gas turbines it sold to companies there had been diverted to Ukraine's Russian-annexed Crimea region in breach of sanctions.

The Munich-based giant said it would freeze deliveries of power generation equipment to state-controlled Russian customers, divest its stake in a Russian company that sells power-plant control systems and terminate a licensing agreement for power generation equipment.
