Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami was allegedly attacked by three men outside his house in Kolkata.

The Indian authorities have arrested three youths late on Saturday when the Team India member was returning home to Katju Nagar, close to South City Mall.

"They have been booked under IPC sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 341 (wrongful restraint)," said a senior officer of Jadavpur police station, quoted Hindustan Times.

Shami informed that he had stopped his car in front of the apartment gate, while waiting for the caretaker to clear the way to the garage,  when three youths in a motorcycle came up to him for parking his car on the road.

The trio also assaulted the caretaker who rushed to Shami's aid. However, the entire sequence was captured by CCTV cameras installed inside the apartment.

Shami, who was born in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, was sent to Kolkata by his coach in 2005 after he failed to make the cut to the UP U-19 team.
