FC Vehicle targeted in Peshawar suicide blast

PESHAWAR: Two security personnel have died and at least 10 injured in a suicide blast targeted at the Frontier Corps

PESHAWAR: Two security personnel have died and at least 10 injured in a suicide blast targeted at the Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle in Hayatabad area of the city on Monday morning.

According to the Peshawar Cantonment SP Imran Malik, the vehicle was in transit when the explosion took place, the local media reports.

The injured have been taken to the nearby hospital and the affected area has been cordoned off.

According to the SSP Operation Sajjad Khan, among martyred was a Major rank officer.

The body parts of the suicide attacker have been recovered and sent to the lab for DNA testing.

It is pertinent to mention that the suicide attack has occurred a day after Inter Services Public Relations Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor announced the launching of another operation, Khyber-IV, in Rajgal valley of Khyber Agency, the tribal area adjoining the Hayatabad area of Peshawar.
