Pakistan fast bowler, Mohammad Amir has been reaping rewards thanks to his potent bowling form after the country’s cricket board awarded him a Category A central contract.

Amir jumped up from category B to A, in the latest Players Central Contracts announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the year 2017-18 on Wednesday, after impressive showing in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy.

Some 35 players were awarded the contract in four categories.

“The Central Contracts were awarded after keeping in mind the performances, fitness, and discipline of the players,” read a statement by PCB.

A number of young players including Shahdab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Fahim Ashraf were awarded Central Contracts this year.

“As per the three year understanding reached with Players and the PCB Management the monthly retainers for all categories are increased by 10 percent.”

Six players are in Category A, four players in Category B, 11 players in Category C and 14 players Category D.
