WWE Universal Champions Brock Lesnar has survived a Samoa Joe onslaught in a thrilling conclusion to an unforgettable Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view.

The champ narrowly retained his title after being ambushed by submission specialist and chokeslammed through a table before the bell had even rung.

Lesnar said he was okay to continue but almost fell to the deadly Coquina Clutch submission in the first ever faceoff between the pair.

The dream match lived up to its hype as Brock took the destroyer to Suplex City, only to again suffer thanks to an opportunistic low blow and uranage slam.

The champion's face turned red as the beast sunk to his knees, before he just freakishly managed to power his way out and hit a desperate F5 for the win.

It was a near perfect contest, which made Joe look like a true destroyer, protected him even in defeat and left fans begging for more ahead of a rematch.
