ISLAMABAD: The prices of fruits and vegetables overall remained stable after minor fluctuation in price of some items in the federal capital here on Wednesday.

According to the Islamabad Market Committee Price List issued here, the prices of various fruits and vegetables showed no major difference from the price list of the previous week.

According to price list, potato was sold at Rs 40/35 per kilogram, Onion Rs 28/23, Tomato Rs 36/30, Ginger Rs 160/145, Garlic (Quetta) Rs 160/145, Garlic Local 135/120, Lemon Rs 135/110, Lady Finger Rs 65/55, Pumpkin Rs 70/60, Brinjal Rs 43/28, Fresh Bean Rs 80/70, Tinda Walaiti (Imported gourd small) Rs 80/70, Cucumber Rs 35/28, Capsicum Rs 35/28, Green Chilli Rs 45/36, Cauliflower Rs 90/80, Cabbage Rs 20/14, Bitter gourd Rs 35/30, Green Zucchini Rs 65/55, Spinach Rs 23/15, Yam Rs 60/45 and Maroo Rs 65/55, Carrot Rs 65/55, Chicken Rs 150 and Egg per dozen Rs 99.

Likewise, the rates of fruits per kilogram of high and medium quality in Islamabad are as follows: Apple (kala kalo) Rs 155/120, Apple White Rs 130/85, Apple China Rs 230/170, Banana Pak Rs 105/75, Banana India Rs 200/155, Pear China Rs 160/130, Melon Rs 40/30, Water Melon Rs 18/15, Mango (Malda) 55/35, Mango (Sindhi) Rs 85/55, Peach Special Rs 120/85, Mango (local) Rs 55/35, Mango (Anwar Ratool) Rs 100/65, Mango (Langra) Rs 65/40, Apricoat Rs 100/65, Cherry Rs 170/135, Plum Rs 65/45 and Plum (Special) Rs 95/65.

The people are asked to ensure that they purchased vegetables and fruits as per rate list and inform authorities at 051-9108084 in case of any compliant against shopkeepers.
