Mohammad Amir to teach ‘Urdu’ to England’s skipper

After an emphatic bowling display at ICC Champions Trophy, fast bowler Mohammad Amir would now be swinging the ball for Essex at the County Championship.

The Pakistani fast bowler said that he was warmly receive by his Essex teammates including former English skipper Alastair Cook. Amir informed that Cook has expressed to teach him Urdu language.

"I met him the first day when I arrived and he was very nice," Amir said, quoted Sky Sports.

"He said to me, the funny thing, 'I want to learn Urdu, so you have to teach me’.”

The fast bowler added that there are no issues between him and Cook, calling him ‘a very nice human being.’

"No (there are no issues between us), nothing. He's always nice and always very supportive… Everybody knows he's a good batsman and a very nice human being, so I think it will be a very good journey with him,” said Amir.

Amir is schedule to make his debut for the Championship leaders against Middlesex, on Monday.
