CM orders strict security for Jumma tul Wida, Eid

"Every step should be taken to maintain law and order and implementation on foolproof security arrangements for the protection of the people also be ensured," he added.

He stated this while presiding over an important meeting of Provincial Cabinet Committee for Law and Order here.

The meeting reviewed the overall situation of law and order and different steps adopted for the protection of lives and property of the people during Jumma tul Wida, Youm-e-Al Quds, Chand Raat and Eid holidays.

It also decided to further beef up the security of mosques, Imam Bargahs and other places of worship.

The chief minister directed that foolproof security arrangements should be made for the protection of life and property of the people and additional staff should be deputed at important buildings, bazaars and market places.

He directed that hundred percent implementation on devised security plan be ensured adding that special arrangements should be made for providing food to the security staff during Eid holidays.

He said special arrangements should be made to maintain traffic flow at tourist places especially in Murree.

Issuing directions to conduct indiscriminate action against the menace of one wheeling during Eid, Shehbaz Sharif said, culprits should be strictly dealt in accordance with the law. He said inspection of public parks and swings should also be conducted so as to avoid any untoward incident.

The security plan issued for the protection of the people should be implemented at tehsil, district and division levels and Divisional Commissioners, RPOs, Deputy Commissioners and DPOs should remain available in the field as implementation of the devised security plan is the responsibly of these officers.

Similarly, he said, indiscriminate crackdown should be conducted against street crimes.

Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Ayoub Gadhi, Jahangir Khanzada, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), acting Inspector General Police, secretaries of concerned departments and senior officials of law enforcement agencies were present on the occasion.
