Haris Sohail, who last represented the green shirts in 2015 against Zimbabwe was optimistic to give his best

“I am really happy to be back in the national team,” said Haris in a video message by PCB. The middle order batsman accepted that it was a difficult phase, while going through a career threatening injury, but Haris Sohail held to his beliefs and moved on.

“I will try my best to play my role in the team’s success,” said Sohail.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selected Haris Sohail as Umar Akmal replacement for the upcoming Champions Trophy, after the later failed fitness test.

“The NCA trainer conducted the test of all three players and based on the reports submitted by the trainer and upon Pakistan's team management request Haris Sohail has been selected to replace Umar Akmal for the Champions Trophy,” said PCB in a statement.

Pakistan is scheduled to commence their Champions Trophy campaign, against arch rivals India on June 4.
