Anti-Corruption Strategy proves very successful in nabbing corrupts

Chairing a meeting to review Annual Action Plan of Awareness and Prevention Wing for year 2017 here, he said NAB has chalked out a comprehensive proactive National Anti-Corruption Strategy and during tenure of present management recovered Rs. 45 billion from corrupt and deposited in national exchequer.

The figures of complaints, inquiries and investigations are almost double as compared to same period of 2015 to 2016.

The comparative figures for the latest three years are indicative of hard work being put in by all ranks of NAB staff in an atmosphere of renewed energy and dynamism, where fight against corruption is being taken as a national duty.

Increase in number of complaints also reflected enhanced public trust in NAB, he said, adding that starting from year 2014 which could be called basically a year of re-invigoration, we have moved with new zeal and effort.

NAB has signed MoU with China to oversee and ensure transparency in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

During tenure of present management, NAB's regional offices increased from five to eight in order to address peoples complaints related to corruption.

He said as per feedback received from various segments of society, NAB's Awareness and Prevention campaign has been effectively and positively highlighted in print and electronic media throughout the country.

The Chairman said NAB has taken steps to aware people about ill-effects of corruption under its Awareness and Prevention Campaign on "Say No To Corruption."
