ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan hearing the suo-moto case of the horrific lynching of Mashal Khan on Wednesday said justice will be ensured in the murder case.

Three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar said complete justice will be ensured in Mashal Khan murder case.

CJP assured IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Salahuddin Mehsud of full support in the investigation against the perpetrators of the incident, saying the judiciary and nation stand with the KP police.

The apex court adjourned the hearing to April 27 and instructed the KP police to stop proceeding with the formation of a judicial commission for inquiry into the matter, saying as investigations were already underway there was no need of a separate judicial commission.

It is pertinent to mention here that, Mashal Khan, a journalism student, was stripped, beaten, shot, and thrown from the second floor of his hostel by a violent mob at the AWKUM campus premises on April 13 over blasphemy allegations.
