Chicago Board of Trade rough rice futures hit a one-month high on Friday on follow-through technical buying from Thursday, traders said. The market got a boost this week from the government's lower-than-expected rice stocks data.
September rice closed 16 cents higher at $10.85 per hundredweight. The more active November contract ended 14 cents up at $11.13, reaching its high of $11.15 late in the session. Volume was moderate to large estimated at 1,660 futures and 75 options.
