Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) domestic affairs committee head is ruining the game.

“A journalist–not Najam Sethi–is head of PCB’s domestic cricket affairs committee & he is ruining it!” Wasim Akram said in a tweet late night clarifying that the journalist in question is not PCB chief Najam Sethi.

The tweet comes in response to Akram previous comments, while addressing a business conference.

The fast bowler said: “The PCB badly lacks strategic planning, which is not a domain of a journalist, who is running all the affairs in the board regarding cricket without knowing nothing about the sport. The PCB needs a technocrat and a good planner, who may bring the sport to highest level.”

The renowned bowler termed Pakistan’s first-class cricket structure poor, saying it fails to produce quality batsmen.

"Our batsmen mostly fail at fast pitches because, they keep on playing first class season on batting pitches throughout the year, and when they are given chance to bouncy and fast pitches, they mostly fail to deliver. There are so many other reasons and lack of planning, which costing Pakistan cricket badly. Unfortunately, most of the decisions about the first class cricket are made over a phone call," he said.

As per reports, PCB’s domestic affairs committee is headed by Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh, a journalist who worked for an English daily in the past.

The former Pakistan captain who remains an active voice in country's cricketing affairs, however did not clarify as to why Mr Shakil Shaikh is ruining the game through his position.
