Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships HS Wagner, Kaimon Galaxy and Distya Ameya carrying containers, chemicals and furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile three more ships MSC Rita, Beijing and Bremen Trader with containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.

Fifty three percent berth occupancy was observed at the port on Sunday where a total of eight ships namely HS Wagner, MSC Federica, Nicoline Maersk, Glory Navigator, BlackPear-110, Kaimon Galaxy, Bunga Allium and Distya Ameya are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Canola Seeds, Chemicals, LPG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 103,308 tonnes, comprising, 66,806 tonnes import cargo and 36,271 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,109 containers TEUs) 1,200 imports TUEs and 1,909 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Five ships HS Wagner, MSC Federica, Nicoline Maersk, Kaimon Galaxy and Bunga Allium sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ships Glory Navigator is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

A total of six ships MSC Beijin, MSC Rita, Al-Karj, Grand Ace-1, Bremen Trader and Shadong Haiyao carrying Containers, Palm oil Chemicals and Soya Bean seed are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, EVTL an FAP respectively on Monday, while two more Container ships Maersk Denver and CMA CGM Uruguay are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
