CBR arranges for budget taxation measures briefing

The Central Board of Revenue has made all necessary arrangements for proper dissemination of taxation measures to be proposed in the 2006-07 Federal Budget to be announced on June 5.
Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Secretary, Public Relations, Muhammad Hafeez Mughal, told APP that CBR is arranging a Technical Press Briefing on Budget Day (June 5) for the economic correspondents, representing local and foreign newspapers, radio and TV channels.
He said that the media persons invited for the briefing have been requested to reach CBR one hour before the commencement of the Budget Speech by the Minister of State for Finance. "Still/Video coverage of the briefing will not be allowed", he added.
The CBR Secretary said that during Technical Press Briefing, the mediamen would be briefed by Line Members/Chiefs of the Board about the rationale of various tax proposals. They will also reply/answer to the queries, if any, of the mediamen. Any economic correspondent who wishes to attend this briefing, is requested to contact Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Talpur, Second Secretary (PR) on phone No 9203399. He said that the economic correspondents would also be provided soft copies of all budget documents released by CBR in form of the Compact Disk (CD).
