Common man to be provided relief: Shaukat

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said the government will make a record allocation for the development budget in the upcoming financial year and will take more steps to provide relief to the common man.
He was talking to MNAs M.P Bhandara, Rashid Akbar and Muhammad Faiz Tamman who called on him separately at the PM House. The Prime Minister said the PML government would ensure the provision of electricity and safe drinking water to every household of the country by the year 2007.
He said the government is vigorously pursuing a reform agenda, which focuses on transparency and good governance and aims at improving the standard of living of the people in all parts of the country. He said that it is heartening to note that the centennial celebrations of the PML are being celebrated across the country with enthusiasm.
Leaders and workers of the PML should devote all their energies to strengthen the country through unity, faith and discipline to leverage the true potential of our country, he added. Shaukat inquired about the development schemes being carried out in their respective constituencies and was pleased to note that all the projects would be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said the public is directly benefiting from the programmes launched under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme. He said government is focusing on providing better facilities to the agriculture sector.
