Wasa's online pre-paid card billing system soon

16 Apr, 2006

The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) will soon introduce online pre-paid card billing system to facilitate its consumers to pay their bills without standing in long queues.
The sources in Wasa said the agency would offer 10 percent discount to cardholders to popularise the system. The consumers would be able to pay their bills through Wasa website.
The system will work just like mobile pre-paid cards. The consumers will have to scratch the card to get a number, which they would feed in the prescribed field of Wasa website along with their consumer number and other details to deduct the billing amount from the card.
The sources said that the system would be followed by the credit card billing facility for which different banks of the country had already been consulted.
This month, Wasa, in collaboration with Asian Development Bank (ADB), has started its online complaint registration service to provide modern way of entertaining public grievances.
The sources said that 67 complaints regarding water leakage, water shortage and water contamination had been received, of those 60 percent complaints had been redressed and the remaining were under process.
