Attempt to smuggle foreign currency foiled

The smugg1ing of foreign currency out of Pakistan was thwarted when sleuths of Customs Preventive Collectorate, posted at International Departure lounge of Jinnah International Airport Karachi recovered and seized 0.4 million Euro and arrested a Pakistani national Jamal Yousuf son of Muhammad Yousuf.
According to the customs, additional collector customs airport received an information that an attempt will be made to smuggle foreign currency in a huge quantity by PIA's Dubai-bound flight PK-207 on Saturday early morning.
The customs staff posted at the international departure was alerted to keep a vigil on all passengers boarding the said flight. However, the suspect passenger was clever enough to cross all the checks and succeeded to board the aircraft.
The suspect was later off-loaded by the customs staff from the aircraft and subjected to personal search. As a result they succeeded in the recovery of Euros 0.4 million cleverly concealed inside the socks and shoes worn by the passenger. The value of currency in term of Pakistani currency comes to Rs 30 million (approximately).
The currency was seized and accused arrested for violation of Customs Act 1969 and further investigation is in progress.
