Sufficient water in Simly Dam

Sufficient water is available in Simly Dam, a major water source for the Federal Capital, an official of Water Supply Directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) said on Monday. However, he appealed to the citizens to avoid wastage of clean water.
He said the water level recorded on Monday was at 2292.35 million gallon per day (MGD) against the dead level of 22.33 MGD.
The present level of dam was still one foot lower than the total capacity of dam, which is 2307 MGD. He said the authority was supplying overall water of 77.62 MGD from all sources including 36-MGD water from Simly.
He said nine-MGD water was being supplied from augmentation while 20 MGD from tubewells.
