Body formed to regulate accounting profession

A Co-ordination committee, consisting senior officials of an apex regulator of accounting profession, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) & Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), has been formed under the CMA Act-1966 to regulate the accounting profession in the country, said a press release on Monday.
The statement said the SECP would be represented by Dr Tariq Hasan, Chairman, Shahid Ghaffar, Commissioner (SM), Salman Ali Sheikh, Commissioner (SC), Rashid I Malik, Commissioner (CL/SS), Dr Sajid Qureshi Executive Director (PSPD).
While the ICMAP would be represented on the Council by Muhammad Rafi, President, Qaisar Mufti, Vice President, Badruddin Fakhri, Muhammad Ashraf Bawany, Mian Mumtaz Abdullah and Professor Dr Khawaja Amjad Saeed.-PR
