UVAS and Punjab University mark Independence Day

Flag hoisting ceremonies were held at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Punjab University in connection with the Independence Day celebrations on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, the UVAS vice-chancellor Professor Dr Manzoor Ahmad called for remembering the services of those who sacrificed their lives for the achievement of motherland. He asked the students and employees to follow the principles of unity, faith and discipline given by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He urged them to work with honesty and dedication for progress and prosperity of the country.
A large number of teachers, students, and employees attended the ceremony while the students sung national songs on this occasion. The vice chancellor announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the students who presented national songs.
At the Punjab University Allama Iqbal Campus, the acting vice-chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Arif Butt hoisted the flag to mark Independence Day celebrations.
He said the nation should express its strong commitment to develop Pakistan as a progressive and prosperous Islamic state.
