Government urged to check price hike

Pakistan Consumer Traders Association (PCTA) chairman Haroon Agar has urged the government to adopt appropriate measures to control abrupt increase in prices of daily consumable items in the country. Presiding over a meeting of the working council of the association, he said Ramazan is fast approaching and it is right time to adopt appropriate measures to control prices of daily-use items.
He appreciated allowing import of sugar from India and said this step would help reduce prices of sugar in the country.
He said allowing import of sugar from India would increase its availability in the market, which would play a major role in reducing prices.
