Since June 2205, the Karachi CNG Green Bus (Route UTS-19) and World-wide Express from Johar Chorangi to Tower, vise-versa via city routes have been stopped without any replacement, depriving the residents of the area transport facilities.
In fact, there was acute shortage of CNG bus services via 'Johar Chorangi' to cater to the need of the growing residency of thousands of citizens living in apartments of the various high-rise buildings in total 20 block of Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, adjacent to 'Johar Chorangi' bus point.
The residents of this area approached the City Government to find solution of the said problem. But instead of providing relief, the concerned officials totally stopped CNG bus services, adding more inconvenience to the residents of this area.
The removal of CNG (air-conditioned) bus services via Johar Chorangi (point) to Tower and other destinations in the city has deprived comfortable bus service to numerous citizens for reaching their offices at Tower and coming back home, timely going/returning of students from schools and colleges as well as comfortable travel of family members to market, hospitals and relatives in the city.
This has monopolised the said route with only choice of 'Gulistan coach' (yellow wagons) which is neither safe nor comfortable for journey. Its drivers drive very rashly, do not stop on designated bus stops, always tend to drop/pick-up passengers in motion in the middle of the road inviting fatal accidents to passengers.
They also overload wagons much beyond seating/standing capacity till its roof-top, charge excess fares without issuance of tickets and handle passengers like animals. Taking undue advantage of their monopoly on route, they are causing inconvenience to the residents of this area.
Therefore, the Governor of Sindh and Regional Transport Authority are requested to restore operation of CNG green bus service (UTS-19), World-wide Express and other new bus services with increased number of trips to pass via Johar Chorangi (centre of 20 blocks) of Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, to facilitate thousands of citizens living in apartments and houses of the area.
