Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade reached a one-year high early on Friday on prospects that the US corn crop was shrinking, stressed by hot, dry weather as it pollinates, traders said. September corn was up 4 cents per bushel at $2.54-1/2 by 11:30 am CDT (1630 GMT), after reaching a high of $2.56.
New-crop December was 2-1/2 cents firmer at $2.64-1/4, trading between nearby support at $2.55 and resistance at $2.66.
