11 Jul, 2005

A leading yarn dealer Malik Mohammad Islam along with his mother and an old maid were found murdered in mysterious circumstances at his Liaquatabad, Bakkar Mandi residence, on Sunday morning. During a thorough search in the house, chequebooks, mobile phone set and some business record were found missing from there, police said.
Initial investigation showed that Malik Muhammad Islam, a yarn trader, was at his residence when some guests came to see him, police said.
The victim trader served food to his guests. But it seemed that the guests might have mixed something in the eatable, which was served to host family, that caused their death, police claimed.
The criminals suffocated all of them before fleeing from the place.
Reason behind the incident could be a business dispute, a police officer said, adding that four teams have been constituted to find a trace of criminals and launched investigation.
The yarn and cloth market traders closed down their businesses after the incident in protest.
