'One village one product plan to bring revolution'

Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Salman Shah has said that the Prime Minister's "One village one product programme" will bring about a revolution in the country. Under this programme, he said, the products produced by Haripur will have the reach to the international market.
Dr Salman Shah stated this during his visit to villages of Haripur Union Council Beer and inspection of projects of CCB being carried out in collaboration with the assistance of Haddaf Foundation and SRSP.
Minister of State for Finance Omar Ayub Khan arranged the programme while Country Director of World Bank John Wall and Chairman RSP Shoaib Sultan and Chairman SRSP Munawar H Khan were also present on the occasion.
He said a large number of development projects were initiated in the past but these lacked welfare of the poor people.
The government has set up Khushhal Pakistan Fund to provide basic facilities to the people at the grassroots level including villages and small cities, he added.
Dr Salman Shah said the funds would be made available for provision of clean drinking water, construction of streets and sewerage lines, enhancing irrigation system, imparting vocational and technical education and ensuring health care facilities for the people.
He said a proper monitoring of the development programme would be made to ensure reaching of the benefits of people welfare programme at the lower level.
He urged the women to enhance their role in the country development, because, he said they can play a vital role in the economic and social development of the society.
