Traffic awareness campaign launched

The traffic police has launched a week long "Traffic Awareness Campaign" to educate the people about traffic rules here on Monday. Deputy Superintendent Traffic Police, Malik Matloob Ahmed said the step had been taken on the special directive of DIG Traffic to ensure smooth flow of increased traffic in the city.
Dilating upon the campaign Malik Matloob said it would not feature checking of vehicle-documents signals violation but it was to ensure 'line and lane' discipline.
He said traffic circles of Rawalpindi had been put on alert round the clock. Banners, at various prominent points in the city had been displayed to create awareness among the citizens about traffic rules. Traffic police would arrange a number of seminars on various topics in which traffic police officials would deliver lectures to drivers on safe driving and traffic rules.
