FHL to organise 'mental health week'

Fountain House Lahore (FHL), on completion of 35 years of its service in the field of mental health, has decided to organise "Mental Health Week" from July 11 to 16, 2005. Miss Samreen Shabana, a spokesperson of Fountain House said here on Monday the basic objective of holding that festival was to strengthen efforts initiated for rehabilitation of mental health of the patients.
She said a number of functions and a series of mental health related activities have been planed for that occasion.
Representatives of various social and medical organisations, Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have been invited to participate in the festival. Leading professionals, prominent mental health experts, and pharmaceutical companies rendering services for Fountain House Lahore will be awarded "Lifetime Achievement Awards" and shields in recognition to their excellent service for the cause of mental health.
"The festival will not only highlight the need for serving the mental health patients but would also encourage the efforts rendered for the purpose", she added.
