No threat of floods to katcha areas

There would be low floods in river Indus as 3 to 4 lac cusec water is likely to pass from Nawabshah district near Mud-Bungalow between July 14 and 15, however there is no threat that the villages of katcha areas of the district would be flooded. Assistant Engineer, Irrigation Department Taluka Sakrand Sub-Division Nawabshah, Mansoor Memon told that floods above 5 lac cusec was said to be medium floods while above 8 lac cusec was said to be super flood.
He told that the total length of Sagyon Matiyari protective embankment from Sukkur to Hala was 200 miles and at present there was no danger of inundation of any village in between the katcha areas of the district.
He said that stone pitching was in progress at the vulnerable points of SM Bund and all the required staff was present at the protective embankment and all kind of patrolling was going on.
