Cerebral malaria kills two in Badin

Two children died of cerebral malaria while four others of same family were suffering from the disease at Goth Wasayo Bajira near here in Badin. According to reports received on Saturday, two real brothers Zahid Hussain (9) and Maula Bakhsh (7 months) died within two weeks, while their third brother Aslam (6) is struggling for life.
The three other cerebral malaria patients Mir Shahjahan (9), Ali Nawaz (5) and Riaz are also real brothers and cousins of the deceased.
Muhammad Bakhsh Bajir, father of the deceased kids, told newsmen due to poverty they were unable to get their children properly tested.
Doctors of the area Abdul Sattar Chandia and Allah Bachayo Jamali said lack of medical facilities, abundance of mosquitoes, shortage of potable water and poverty were the major causes of spread of that disease.
