The government has decided to issue new criteria for obtaining Pakistani Visa by Indian nationals. According to a press release, the authorities have issued new criteria for the Indian nationals seeking Pakistani visa, keeping in view the troubles faced by the individuals or group who intend to visit Pakistan.
Recent thaw in Indo-Pak relations have invited a large number of requests for obtaining Pakistani visa and the authorities failed to process them, as the applicants did not follow the laid down procedure.
Accordingly, visa request on prescribed form of interior division must be delivered to the division at least eight weeks in advance which must be accompanied by photocopies of a valid passport.
The request forms for Pakistani visa can be obtained from section officer (India) of Interior Division, Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi or it may be down loaded from website of the ministry of interior www.interior.gov.pk. It is also added that requests at short notice shall not be entertained.
It was also decided by the authorities that for cultural/sports functions, Ministry of Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs Division must be contacted and for such Indian nationals visa will be processed only after it is received through the said ministry.
It is added that due to not following the set procedure, visa processing gets delayed, which causes embarrassment at both ends. The successful processing will take place only through following the laid down procedure.
