26 Jun, 2005

The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has expressed hope that the taxpayers would avail tax concessions offered by the government and pay the arrears of Sales Tax and also get their goods cleared from the warehouses by June 30 to avail the concessions.
A Central Board of Revenue statement issued here Saturday said that the CBR's Helpline Centre, working to answer queries about Budget 2005 initiatives, received maximum queries about Zero-rating regime of Sales Tax, waiver of additional tax and penalties on Sales Tax arrears and Waiver of penal surcharge on clearance of goods from warehouses.
CBR has asked the taxpayers to pay their Sales Tax arrears by June 30, as it would entitle them to waiver of additional tax and penalties.
Central Board of Revenue has also asked the taxpayers to get their goods cleared from the warehouses by June 30 to entitle themselves to the waiver of penal surcharge.
CBR hoped that the taxpayers would avail the concessions offered by the Government.
