Egypt sells 1,017 tonnes of cotton in week

The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it committed to sell 1,017 tonnes of cotton in the week which ended on June 11. An Alcotexa official said it had committed to sell 46 tonnes of Giza 70, 100 tonnes of Giza 88, 771 tonnes of Giza 86 and 100 tonnes of Giza 89. The new commitments bring Alcotexa's export commitments for the year starting August 14 to 137,758.5 tonnes of cotton, worth $257.72 million, the Alcotexa official said.
