Call to implement neoteric teaching techniques

Punjab Education Minister, Mian Imran Masood, has stressed the need for implementation of neoteric teaching techniques in the educational institutes so as the students could be able to face the challenges of modern age. While addressing a workshop on 'daily lesson planning' organised by donors co-ordination wing of the education department here on Saturday, Imran termed the initiation of daily lesson planning in public sector schools as an historic step which would help improve education standard in the government schools.
The success of educational development projects depends 'upon the teachers' performance because they have central role to play in the education sector, he added.
The government schools teachers are more competent, professionally trained and experienced as compared to teachers in the private schools. He stated that it is a fact that only students of the government institutions are able to achieve higher positions in the examinations conducted by the boards and universities which is a clear proof of teachers' dedication and devotion, he maintained.
Speaking on the occasion, Mowahid Hussain, Advisor to Chief Minister said that a roadmap has been given to the teachers through daily lesson planning which would create educational awareness among the students as well as teachers.
Special Secretary Education, Imtiaz Tajwar said on the occasion that with the implementation of daily lesson planning, the gap between the private and public sector schools would be eliminated. This system was already in place in the English medium schools, he added.
Sadia Shahzad Chaudhry said on the occasion that daily lesson planning was introduced keeping in view the existing ground realities. With the implementation of this programme, an era of modern teaching techniques would be initiated in the province.
