Sales tax issue: RCCI team calls on CBR official

A delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) called on Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Member Sales Tax and discussed with him in detail the issues pertaining to the sales tax. CBR Member Sales Tax Shahid Ahmed assured the visiting RCCI office bearers, led by RCCI President Najam Rehan, that the registration applications from Pindi, verified by the RCCI, would be considered on priority. He said that laws were being made to simplify the sales tax procedure, adding the procedure was being made trader-friendly, as the audit system was being developed gradually to remove the irritants.
On the occasion, RCCI President Najam Rehan hailed the reformed policies of the CBR and called them business-friendly. However, the CBR should concentrate on expansion of sales tax net, he added. RCCI senior-vice president Jalil Ahmed Malik and Vice-president Syed Asad Mashadi were also part of the visiting delegation.
