Malaysia nets illegal copies of new Star Wars film

Malaysian authorities have seized illegal copies of the latest Star Wars movie just a day after it was released in North American cinemas, finding them among half a million pirated DVDs. Police and domestic trade ministry officials found the DVDs unguarded in a warehouse near the Malaysian capital on Friday, state news agency Bernama said, quoting a top ministry official. The latest haul, described as the biggest in Malaysia this year, was worth 5 million ringgit ($1.32 million). The DVDs had been made in nearby factories and were destined for the United States, Europe and other markets abroad, the ministry's enforcement chief was quoted as saying.
