Abn Amro chairman reaffirms commitment to Pakistan

Mr Rijkman Groenink, Chairman of the Managing Board, ABN Amro Bank visited Pakistan recently. Rijkman Groenink reaffirmed ABN Amro's commitment to Pakistan during his meetings with President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. Mr. Groenink said, "I am delighted to see the immense growth in Pakistan as a whole, and the banking sector in Pakistan. We are particularly excited to have associated with the country's development in the last 55 years and are impressed with the fast expanding Pakistan economy.
"Rijkman Groenink's visit comes at a time when ABN Amro Bank is expanding its commitment to Pakistan, which includes aggressive marketing, launch of new products, increase in the number of branches, and moving operations into more cities. As a responsible corporate citizen, ABN Amro Bank has also taken up sponsorship of National Cricket Pakistan to encourage the development of domestic cricket and stimulate new economic activity.
Rijkman Groenink is based in the ABN Amro Head Office in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has a Law Degree from the University of Utrecht and a degree in Business Administration from Manchester Business School. Mr. Groenink has been working with ABN Amro since 1974.
