Pervaiz Elahi calls on Manmohan

Pakistani Punjab's Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Tuesday called on Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh here at his residence. During the meeting, the Indian Premier said, "we are sincere and serious in taking the ongoing peace process forward" between the two sides. There are ample opportunities to foster co-operation between the two countries in various fields including agriculture, medical, education and economic sector, he observed.
Pervaiz Elahi said during his visit to Amritsar, Chandigarh, Punjab and now New Delhi he observed there was a strong desire among the people for good and friendly ties between the two countries.
A lunch pea hosted by Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala in Gurgaon. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday held meetings with External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit. He also attended a reception soon after his arrival to the National Capital, organised by Shiromani Akali Dal and Sikh Gurudwar Management Committee in his honour.
