Strict security measures on Juma-tul-Wida

LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Haider Ashraf on Thursday said strict security arrangements have been made for Juma-tul-Wida and Youm-ul-Quds.

Talking to APP, the DIG Operations said that for Juma-tul- Wida, the security SOP of Muharram-ul-Haram would be followed.

In this connection, Dr Haider Ashraf said strict security measures for mosques, Imambargahs and other worship places would be ensured.

He said officers had been directed to ensure all received rescue calls data by maintaining its daily diary.

Dr Haider Ashraf said on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, further security had been beefed up during the last days of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. He added and round-the-clock patrolling had also been intensified.

To a question, he said that mosques and Imambargahs were already being monitored by CCTVs at police control rooms.

He said all divisional SPs had been directed to check security arrangements of mosques and Imambargahs themselves in their respective areas.
