Khurram lauds Govt steps against elimination of terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Commerce Engr. Khurram Dastgir Monday lauded the present government concrete steps for eliminating terrorism and extremism from the country.

All the political parties were united against eradication of terrorism and extremism despite differences among them, he said in a PTV programme.

He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the killing of renowned Qawwal Amjad Fareed Sabri and kidnapping of Awais Shah.

The minister said Karachi operation was launched with the consensus of all political parties to restore peace in economic hub of the country. No political party has given remarks against Karachi operation, he added.

He said peace was restored in the mega city due to operation and there was massive decrease in heinous and street crimes, target killings and extortion.

Khurram Dastgir said Karachi law and order situation was much better as compared to past as people are living in peaceful environment without fear.

He said that criminals do not have any religion.

Replying to a question, he said that political parties were united against elimination of terrorism, overcoming energy crisis and making China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) successful. CPEC would be completed soon and it would bring economic revolution in the country, he added.
