Uganda's central bank says in market to sell foreign exchange

KAMPALA: Uganda's central bank said on Monday it was in the market to sell an undisclosed amount of foreign currency, sending the shilling stronger against the dollar.

At 1216 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,375/3,385 to the dollar from 3,430/3,440 before the central bank intervened.

The shilling closed at 3,410/3,420 on Friday.
